1. When does the season begin?
  The Moose/Caribou/Bear season begins on the second Saturday in September, and with our limited number of licenses,we are generally finished by the last week of October.
 
2. When do you start Spring Bear Season?
  We start spring bear hunting the first Saturday in June up until the first week of July.
 
3. When is the rut?
  The rut is usually the last week of September, first two weeks of October. Moose in rut have a tendency to move more.
 
4. What is the average distance to shoot with a rifle?
  Approximately 100 yards.
 
5. When are animals out of velvet?
  Most all antlered animals in Newfoundland are out of velvet by the 1st week of September.
 
6. Can you hunt with a hand-gun?
  Hand-gun and cross-bows are not permitted in Newfoundland. All firearm related questions can be answered by caling the Firearms Registration Center at 1-800-731-4000 or e-mail: canadian.firearms@justice.x400.gc.ca.
 
7. What is the recommended caliber?
  My personal choice is a 30-06, 180 gr. Nosler Partitioning -- anything above a 30 caliber is acceptable.
 
8. What does the price include?
  The price includes transportation to and from airport - accommodations - all meals (full-time cook on staff) - field dressing of animals (we get the animals out of the woods and to the camp for you.)
 
9. What is the terrain like?
  Moose -- fairly thick cover with some open cut-over -- bogs(swampy areas) dark green black spruce balsam fir timber.
 
10. Are there any bugs/mosquitoes/black flies?
  In the fall bugs are never a problem, however in the spring bear season, you need to come prepared with a head-net, gloves, etc.
 
11. Where is Newfoundland?
