BY SEA:
Marine Atlantic operates year-round superferry service between North
Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Channel-Port aux Basques in southwest
Newfoundland. Crossing time is about five hours in summer, and seven
hours in winter. There is also a summer service between North Sydney and
Argentia on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula from mid-June to late
September. Advance reservations are essential in summer, and recommended
the rest of the year. For more information, please contact Marine

Lewisporte to Labrador:
Coastal Labrador Marine Services operates a ferry service from
Lewisporte, Newfoundland, to Labrador. The ferry service
operates from mid-June to mid-September, but June sailings are
sometimes delayed due to ice conditions. The ferry, which
carries automobiles, docks at Cartwright and Happy Valley-Goose
Bay, and the one-way trip takes about 35 hours.
